Glen's is currently owned by Rusty Eichorn. We buy directly from the government at military auctions across the country. This combined with our policy of buying equipment directly from our local soldiers means you can always browse a great selection of new, genuine and authentic military products.
What you see during a visit to our surplus store, you may never see again. We cannot begin to think of listing every item online, so the inventory you see in our military surplus online store will be different than what you will find in our local store.

If we do, it is clearly stated as 'non-issue' or 'commercial'. We want the experience of buying legit gear at Glenn's to be easy. Furthermore, 99% of our clients are men and women, be it armed forces, government projects and law enforcement officers. We will buy any surplus military equipment you wish to sell.
Enter everything you want to sell right away and we'll go through it quickly and provide you with a cash price as well as a trade in price in case you need additional equipment. We will not pick your gear and buy a few and leave gear for you to dispose of.
If it is legal to buy, we will buy it. We donate extra equipment that we cannot use in our retail store to homeless shelters. It is illegal to buy any equipment. We cannot buy body armor, optics, electronics and MREs.
All you need is your driver's license or military ID. Glen Dix started Glen's in 1946 on US Hwy 2 in Grand Rapids, MN. Military surplus was at its peak and Glenn, like many others, found a market for people who wanted to use the reliable surplus for hunting, camping and work.

These military grade items were of a better quality than what was commercially available, and these items had an affinity for returning veterans after World War II over their commercial counterparts. As sales increased, so did the amount of square footage needed, and in the mid-1950s Glen built a new store across the street in the same location where we are today.
As time went on and the surplus of military equipment waned and dwindled as demand for outdoor exploration grew, commercial offerings of footwear, clothing and camping gear improved. These new items complemented the surplus equipment well and became staples over time.
We buy our equipment from the US government at auction, off the street from the military, and from numerous proprietary sources around the country and around the world. We have a rotating selection of US military equipment and foreign military and military collectibles.
